Meizu 6T Teardown

On May 29th, Meizu held a conference to launch the Meizu 6T officially. As an affordable entry-level full-screen smartphone, the Meizu 6T boasts an excellent appearance design and features a dual camera. How about its workmanship? Today, let’s start the teardown of the Meizu 6T to explore its internal design and workmanship.

First of all, remove the SIM card tray. The smartphone supports dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) and SD card storage expansion.

Then, take out two screws near the USB port. The two screws have the same specification as the screw that iPhone uses. The phone’s back cover can be easily separated from the phone body with a pick since it uses PC material and clips.

After removing the back cover, the phone’s internal structure and the fingerprint reader module on the back cover can be seen.

It is the first time that Meizu has applied a rear fingerprint reader to the Meizu 6T. With a hole in the back cover, the fingerprint reader is connected to the motherboard via a cable.

The phone adopts a classic three-stage internal design. We can see that the motherboard is placed on the top, the battery in the middle, and the small board at the bottom. Such internal design has been applied to many smartphones.

The plastic cover shield has been used on the small board at the bottom. An external speaker is integrated into the cover shield.

The small board is mainly responsible for connections. The USB port, antenna port, and other components have been integrated into it.

The phone’s earphones and other small components are placed on the small board. It sports a 3300mAh battery, which supports 5V 1.5A fast charge technology. The plastic cover shield is placed on the motherboard. Such a design is rare to see.

After removing the plastic plate, the motherboard can be seen. The plastic support device is rare to see on smartphones. This device is estimated to protect the motherboard.

The motherboard can be easily taken out owing to its classic structure. After removing the motherboard, we can see the middle frame. The middle frame uses metal material. The phone’s motherboard has a compact structure and uses good-quality material.

There is a graphite sticker on the shield cover in the CPU area on the back of the motherboard. In this way, the heat can be effectively delivered to the middle frame.

After taking out the shield cover, we can see thermal grease inside. The thermal grease is used to help the CPU dissipate heat. After removing the silicone, the CPU and memory chip can be seen.

The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s octa-core 1.5GHz MT6750. For the user who wants to buy an entry-level smartphone, the MediaTek MT6750 processor can provide excellent performance. Besides, this CPU has optimized the Flyme system, which will bring the phone good performance.

It uses memory chips from Samsung. The RAM has a capacity of 3GB, and the flash ROM has a capacity of 32GB.

The fingerprint reader connector on the motherboard is used to connect the fingerprint reader module on the back cover.

The smartphone comes with an 8MP front shooter for selfies alongside the 13MP and 2MP dual camera setup. It is estimated to bring good picture-taking performance.

Summary
internal components
We find that the Meizu 6T has excellent workmanship and uses materials with good quality. Besides, the phone is priced at CNY 799 (approximately $123), and undoubtedly, it has excellent cost performance with regard to its full screen and dual camera.
