Today, a new report has been revealed regarding the upcoming Qualcomm flagship chipset. The expected name for the chipset is Snapdragon 875G. The reports revealed that the forthcoming flagship chipset had been entered into mass production by Samsung. A previous report from an investment bank also revealed that Snapdragon 875G will be manufactured by Samsung.
Industry insiders also revealed that Samsung is the company that won this contract from Qualcomm. This means that Samsung will manufacture the Snapdragon 875G chipset. The worth of this contract is 1 Trillion Korean Won (Equivalent to 844M USD), as per reports.
Currently, it is reported that Samsung has begun mass production of Snapdragon 875 on its production line in South Korea using EUV equipment. In addition, this is the first time that Samsung has produced Qualcomm’s flagship chipset.
Some sources have reported that the upcoming 5G flagship will feature the Snapdragon X60 modem with an RF-integrated system. Moreover, the upcoming flagship will also use the Quick Charge 5.0 technology (supports fast charging up to 100W+).
It is also reported that the chipset may use the Cortex-X1 core as a prime core, while it would also use Cortex-A78 cores as the other three performance cores. The rest other four energy-efficient cores are still unconfirmed.
Previously, we reported that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875G is expected to launch in December 2020. It is also said that this upcoming 5G flagship chipset will power the 1H2020 flagship devices from famous smartphone manufacturers (like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Oppo).
