Not long ago, Sony released its Xperia 1 II with a Snapdragon 865 chipset. Now, it seems that Sony is planning to launch its successor.
Today, the famous Twitter blogger revealed the specifications of the Sony Xperia 1 III. According to him, the Sony Xperia 1 III will feature an OLED display with 4K resolution and support HDR. The display will be about 6.5 inches.
He also mentioned that the display brightness will be 15% higher than the Sony Xperia 1 II. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. The chipset has eight cores and is based on a 5nm manufacturing process.
The phone will be equipped with a side fingerprint scanner and will be IP65/68 certified, which means it is waterproof and dust-resistant up to 1.5 meters and 30 minutes.
The device would be available in an 8+256GB storage variant, as the blogger mentioned, but there may be more variants. The variant 8+256GB would be priced at $1199.
Currently, the device is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2021.
