This morning, the Galaxy S23 Ultra was listed on 3C certification. The model number is SM-S9180, which denotes that this would be the Chinese variant of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. As mentioned in the certification, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will support a maximum of 25W charging.
It is worth noting that the Galaxy S22 Ultra supports a maximum of 45W charging. Most probably, only the Chinese variant of Galaxy S23 Ultra would support charging at lower power.
The certification also reveals that the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses Samsung‘s traditional EP-TA800 25W charger, which supports the following charging modes: 15W (5V/3A), 25W (9V/2.77A), 10W-18W (3.3-5.9V/3A) and 7.5W-25W (3.3-11V/2.25A). It’s worth mentioning that Samsung doesn’t include a charger in the box, so that charger will need to be purchased separately.
As per previous news, the display size and body dimensions of the entire Galaxy S23 lineup are expected to remain the same as in the Galaxy S22 lineup. The Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature a 200MP lens and will be the second smartphone with this number of megapixels.
The Galaxy S23 series is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which will be a massive upgrade over its predecessor. Samsung might eliminate the use of its Exynos series chipset. Some rumors also state that if Samsung manufactured the Exynos (Exynos 2230/2300 5G) powered Galaxy S23 model, they would be very limited.
Currently, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S23 series between December 2022 and January 2023.
