Although dual-camera modules have become a common feature in new smartphones over the past few years, Sony has yet to launch a phone with dual cameras. Recently, an unreleased Sony smartphone appeared on the GFXBench benchmarking platform. The dual front-facing camera setup is one of the standout features of this new smartphone.
According to the information on GFXBench, Sony’s new phone is the H3213 Avenger (model number). It features a 6-inch touchscreen with a 2160 x 1080 resolution. The smartphone is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
It will feature a 7MP + 15MP dual camera setup on the front and a 21MP rear camera. The phone will have 4GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM, and run on Android 8.0.
According to GFXBench, the Sony H3213 Avenger does not use the popular 18:9 full-screen design but rather a standard 16:9 screen, suggesting it is a mid-range smartphone based on the specifications. If the information on GFXBench is true, this phone will be Sony’s first dual-camera phone, which is expected to be released at next year’s MWC.
