At the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 held today, the company unveiled several new achievements, including EMUI 11.
The company revealed the three main highlights of EMUI 11: art-based design, a new always-on display, and immersive art themes. The EMUI 11 features the following characteristics:
- Smooth Motion In One Mirror
- Natural And Comfortable Gesture Navigation
- Multi-sensory coordination of sound and vibration
- Easy And Suitable For People
- Wisdom Multi-Window
- Multi-Screen Collaborative Keyboard and Mouse Sharing.
The new EMUI 11 user interface design not only brings the features mentioned above but also introduces an upgraded “Smart Multi-Window”. The new system also offers a unique audiovisual touch interactive experience for dynamic effects and multisensory collaboration. Users’ visual and interaction experience is significantly enhanced, enabling more efficient dynamic design operations.
The new EMUI 11 fully leverages the distributed technology of Hongmeng 2.0 to achieve interconnection between more devices. The multi-screen collaboration feature has also been upgraded, allowing users to open multiple windows of their phone on a computer. EMUI 11 introduces photo sharing with sensitive data removal and a private memo feature.
The screen sharing feature has also been optimized. In terms of AI capabilities, the new EMUI 11 also supports real-time AI subtitle translation in English, Japanese, and Korean.
According to reports, Huawei has officially opened the EMUI 11 beta test for the following models:
- Huawei P40 Series
- Huawei Mate30 Series
- MatePad Pro Series
The beta version update will soon start rolling out for some models, including the Honor 30, V30, and Nova 7 series. More than 50 smartphone models will be updated to EMUI 11, with an estimated install capacity of over 200 million units and an expected 90% upgrade rate.
Huawei also said that devices upgraded to EMUI 11 will be prioritized for upgrades to HarmonyOS 2.0 as soon as possible.
