Samsung Galaxy S21+ with Snapdragon 875 spotted on Geekbench

The Galaxy S21 series is expected to launch in the first or second week of January 2021. However, the specification and render leaks are trending these days. Today, a new model from Samsung has been spotted on Geekbench.

The device has a model number SM-G996U, which directly confirms that this is the Geekbench of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S21+. The main point revealed in the Geekbench is that the device is powered by a chipset with the codename Lahaina.

As per reports, the Lahaina is the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chipset. More interestingly, the phone has scored more if we compare it with the previous Geekbench, in which this device was powered by Exynos 2100 chipset.

The Galaxy S21+ with Snapdragon 875 scored 1120 points on Single-Core and 3319 points on Multi-Core. This is the US version of the Galaxy S21+, which may also support 5G. Samsung usually uses the Snapdragon chipsets in the US and Chinese versions of its devices.

In the Geekbench, the chipset has a base frequency of about 1.8GHz. As reported previously, the Snapdragon 875 would be an octa-core chipset with the following cores: 1x Cortex-X1 core, 3x Cortex-A78 cores, and 4x Cortex-A55 cores.

The chipset will also feature an Adreno 660 GPU. Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 875 are based on the same 5nm manufacturing process.

As mentioned, the Galaxy S21 series is expected to launch in January 2021.
