Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5 gets FCC certification with 15W charging

It seems like Samsung is planning to launch a new generation of its rugged smartphone. Recently, a device with model number SM-G525F was spotted on Geekbench, which suggests that this would be the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5. The same model number has also been spotted once again on another certification site.

Today, the Galaxy Xcover 5 has been listed on the FCC certification. As always, the FCC Certification has revealed the charging specifications of the phone. The certification mentions that the Galaxy Xcover 5 will come with the Samsung EP-TA200 charger. The charger can charge the phone in two modes: 15W and 10W.

The phone is equipped with a USB Type-C port, as the phone comes with a USB Type-A to Type-C cable out of the box. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, as the earphones are also mentioned.

It is also confirmed that the phone will be available in a dual SIM version, as another model number, SM-G525F/DS, is also mentioned. This phone does not support 5G networks, as 5G connectivity is not mentioned in the FCC certification.

As per previous reports, the phone will be equipped with an Exynos 850 chipset. The Exynos 850 is an octa-core entry-level chipset based on an 8nm LPP manufacturing process. It consists of 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G52 MP1 GPU. The chipset also supports LPDDR4X memory and UFS 3.1 storage.
