As Honor promised, the Honor V40 series has been officially announced today with its specifications. The phone will also go on sale today at 12 p.m.
At the launch event, all the specifications were discussed in detail. The main specifications are the following:
Display:
The Honor V40 uses a 6.72-inch curved display with a resolution of 2676×1236. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate to support precise ambient light management. The display has 440 PPI and a 5000000:1 contrast ratio. It also has DCI-P3 gamut support and 800 nits of brightness. The Honor V40 is the world’s first smartphone to obtain the German TUV 2.0 Global Eye Protection certification.
Hardware & Software:
The Honor V40 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. It is a 7nm process chipset with a maximum frequency of 2.6GHz. The phone supports GPU Turbo X, Link Turbo, and memory management engines. The Honor V40 cooling back clip can ensure the phone runs in HUNTER Boost mode for a long time. In terms of Sound, the phone is equipped with dual stereo speakers and a dual linear motor for 4D vibration.
Battery & Charging:
The Honor V40 comes with a 66W charger. The company claimed this charger could charge 60% of the battery in 15 minutes. The phone uses a single-cell, three-electrode super-fast charging solution. The company hasn’t revealed the device’s battery capacity.
Camera:
The Honor V40 uses a quad camera setup with a primary 50MP Super-sensitive main lens (with an RYYB array) in terms of camera. The device also supports 4K HDR time-lapse photography. The company has also shared some live shots taken from the device. The other two cameras are an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera with a laser focus sensor.
Storage & Pricing:
The Honor V40 will be available in two storage options: 8+128GB at CNY 3599 ($556) and 8+256GB at CNY 3999 ($618). It also comes in three color options: Black, Gold, Gradient Blue, and Purple. The phone will go on sale today at 12 PM.
