Huawei confirms Mate X2 Will feature Kirin 9000 chipset

This morning, Huawei officially confirmed that they will launch the Mate X2 on February 22. The phone has been leaked and rumored for a long time, and almost all the specifications are known. Today, officials revealed the hardware of the upcoming foldable phone.

As per the information on the Huawei Kirin Wechat account, the Huawei Mate X2 will be powered by the latest Kirin 9000 chipset.

The Kirin 9000 is an octa-core chipset based on a 5nm manufacturing process in terms of specifications. It features a Cortex-A77 core at 3.13 GHz, three Cortex-A77 cores at 2.54 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.05 GHz. It is also equipped with a 24-core Mali-G78 GPU.

The Mate X2 may be available in limited quantities as the Kirin 9000 chipset is also produced in low quantities for some reasons. Last time, the chipset was used in the Mate 40 series.

As per previous reports, the Huawei Mate X2 will feature an internally foldable dual-screen design with an 8.01-inch 2,480×2,200 internally foldable main screen, while the external screen will measure around 6.45 inches with a resolution of 2,700×1,160.

The phone has a 4400mAh battery. In terms of the camera, a Quad-Camera setup (50 million pixels + 16 million pixels + 12 million pixels + 8 million pixels) will also be placed on the backside.
