Asus A450J Disassembly
In this post, I’ll explain how to disassemble the Asus A450J to remove and replace the battery, hard drive, DVD drive, RAM, cooling fan, wireless card, speakers, palm rest, and motherboard.

Laptop model: Asus A450J.
Remove all screws from the bottom case.
Pry up and remove the bottom case.
Under the bottom case, you can access the battery, hard drive, CMOS battery, DVD drive, RAM, cooling fan, USB board and wireless card.
Remove two screws securing the battery and disconnect the battery connector. You can remove the battery.
It features a 14.4v, 3070mah Li-ion battery. Asus model: A41-X550E.
Remove two screws securing the hard drive module.
Lift up and remove the hard drive module.
The laptop comes with an HGST 1TB 5400PRM hard drive.
Remove the memory.
The Asus A450J features a 4GB memory.
Open the black paper. You can find the wireless card.
Remove one screw securing the wireless card.
Disconnect two antenna cables. You can remove the wireless card.
Atheros AR5B125 wireless card
Remove one screw securing the DVD drive.
Pull out the DVD drive.
It comes with a Panasonic UJ8C2 Super Multi Slim DVD writer.
Remove five screws securing the heat sink.
Unplug the power cable from the motherboard. You can remove the heat sink.
Asus A450J heat sink and cooling fan, the cooling fan OEM by Foxconn.
Remove the motherboard.
