Dell Latitude E6430u disassembly and SSD, RAM, HDD upgrade options

In this guide, I’ll explain how to disassemble the Dell Latitude E6430u to remove and replace the battery, SSD, palm rest, keyboard, memory, wireless card, cooling fan, and motherboard. Refer to this guide. You can upgrade, repair, and clean the fan for your Latitude E6430u.

Unlock and remove the battery.

Remove two screws securing the back cover.

Remove the SD card.

Slide the back cover by the arrow to remove it.

With the back cover removed, you can get access to the memory, SSD, and wireless card.

The Dell Latitude E6430u comes with an Elixir 4GB memory.

Remove one screw securing the SSD and take it out from the mSATA slot.

The laptop features Samsung MZ-MPC256D 256GB mSATA SSD.

Remove four screws securing the keyboard; beside the screw, you can see the “K.”

Disconnect the keyboard cable and two backlit cables.

Lift up and remove the keyboard.

Remove three screws securing the palm rest and disconnect four cables from the motherboard.

Remove all screws.

Tour over the laptop, pay up, and remove the palm rest.

On the back of the palm rest, you can access the touchpad module.

When the palm rest is removed, you can access the CMOS battery and motherboard.

Remove one screw securing the wireless card and unplug two antenna cables.

The Dell Latitude E6430u features an Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 wireless card.

Disconnect the cooling fan cable from the motherboard.

Remove two screws securing the cooling fan. You can remove the cooling fan.

Unplug the LCD cable from the motherboard and the other two cables. Remove the screws securing the motherboard.
