HP Pavilion 15-d000 disassembly and RAM, HDD upgrade options
HP Pavilion 15-d101tx is an entertainment notebook that uses an Intel Haswell i5-4200M 2.5GHz dual-core processor. It’s integrated with an Intel HD Graphics 4600 graphics card. The laptop also adopted the NVIDIA GeForce GT 820M graphics card; it also comes with 4GB DDR3L 1600MHz memory and 500GB HDD hard drive. Today, we take a look at its internal structure.
In this guide, I’ll explain how to disassemble HP Pavilion 15-d000 to remove the bottom case, hard drive, RAM, DVD drive, keyboard, palm rest, wireless card, heat sink, cooling fan, card reader, and motherboard.

Unlock and remove the battery.
Remove all screws from the bottom case.
Remove the service cover. You can get access to the RAM and wireless card.
Remove the four screws.
Remove the plastic mat. You can find another screw and remove it, and you also need to remove the screw on the right.
Pull out the DVD drive.
It is using an HL-DT-ST GU90N DVD Burner.
When the palm rest is removed, you can get access to the keyboard and touchpad.
Now, you can remove the keyboard and replace it with a new keyboard.
In the next step, I will remove the hard drive and motherboard.
Disconnect the white cable from the motherboard.
Remove three screws securing the hard drive module.
Disconnect the SATA cable from the motherboard. You can remove the hard drive module.
HP Pavilion 15-d000 features a Western Digital 500GB hard drive.
Remove three screws securing the card reader and disconnect the card reader cable. You can remove it.
On the motherboard, you can get access to the RAM, wireless card, CMOS battery, heat sink, and cooling fan.

Loosen six screws securing the heat sink.
Remove two screws securing the cooling fan. You can remove the heat sink and cooling fan.
