It has been revealed that Huawei has silently announced the new generation of its MateBook D 15 and D 14. Both new models are listed on the famous Chinese e-commerce site with specifications and renders.
Starting from the appearance, these two models have no physical design differences except the size and thickness. The MateBook D 14 measures about 322.5×214.8×15.9mm and weighs around 1.39kg, while the MateBook D 15 measures 357.8×229.9×16.9mm and weighs 1.63kg.
Come to display, the D14 2021 has a 14-inch IPS display with Full-HD (1920x1080p) resolution, 16:9 screen ratio, 100% sRGB color gamut, and 157 PPI. The screen also has a brightness of 300nits, 84% screen-to-body ratio, and low blue light eye care certification (TUV Rheinland).
The D15 2021 has a 15.6-inch IPS Display with a lower 141 PPI and an 87% screen-to-body ratio; the other display specifications are the same as the MateBook D14 2021. It is also important to mention that both models have a 720p HD hidden webcam (in the keyboard).
All these two models use the Ryzen 7 5700U and Ryzen 5 5500U chipset. The processor also has a built-in AMD Radeon GPU.
The most important factor, the battery, is also the same in both models: 56Wh battery ships with 65W Fast charger. The total charging time of both models is 100 minutes, while the half-charging time is different. Due to the smaller display in D14, better battery life can be expected.
Bboth models feature a fingerprint scanner on the right top of the keyboard. The D14 2021 has a 1x 3.5mm headphone jack, 2x USB Type-A port (1x USB 3.2 Gen1 and 1x USB 2.0), 1x HDMI Port, and 1x USB Type-C port. The D15 2021 has an additional USB 2.0 Type-A port.
