MediaTek will release Dimensity 8100 on March 1

At the end of last year, MediaTek launched the Dimensity 8000 for mid-range smartphones. The chipset is based on TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process and utilizes the ARMv8 architecture, which is still not an old option in the market.

However, the latest development shows that MediaTek is planning to launch another chipset. According to Digital Chat Station, the chipset is expected to be named Dimensity 8100.

The blogger revealed that MediaTek is looking forward to launching a new chipset on March 1. The specs will remain the same as the Dimensity 8000, but the frequency of Performance Cortex-A78 cores will be higher, currently clocked at 2.75GHz in Dimensity 8000.

He also mentioned that many smartphone makers who are developing smartphones with Dimensity 8000 may change the chipset to Dimensity 8100. According to rumors, the chipset was expected to be used in the upcoming Redmi K50 or Find X4 series.

The Dimensity 8000 has eight cores, with four Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.75GHz and four Cortex-A55 power-saving cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The chipset also comes with a Mali-G510 GPU.

The Dimensity 8100 smartphone is expected to be released next month.
