Motorola Edge 40 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen2 listed on Google Play Console

This morning, the upcoming Motorola Edge 40 Pro was listed on the Google Play Console, revealing its front-side render and some basic specifications.

Starting from the front side renders, the Motorola Edge 40 adopts the same single-centered punch-hole display with both side edges. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and a screen DPI of 400.

As mentioned, the Motorola Edge 40 will be powered by the chipset with the codename SM8550. The chipset is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is based on the new TSMC 4nm process and features the following specifications: 1x Cortex-X2 super core at 3.0GHz, 2x Cortex-A715 and 2x Cortex-A710 cores at 2.5GHz, and 3x Cortex-A510 cores at 1.8GHz.

The listing also mentions that this device will have 12GB RAM. The same device was also listed on Geekbench certification with the exact specifications and model number.

Rumors also state that this device might be the international version of Moto X40, launched in December 2022 in the Chinese market. If so, the specifications of the Moto X40 and Motorola Edge 40 Pro would be the same.

The Moto X40 is equipped with the same chipset and display, has a 4600mAh battery, and supports 125W wired charging. It features a triple (50MP+50MP+12MP) camera setup on the back and a 60MP selfie lens on the front.

The new Motorola Edge 40 series might be released during the MWC 2023 event. If not, then most probably in the next month.
