A few days ago, Motorola confirmed that the Motorola Edge S would be launched soon. Today, the company has officially launched the phone. In the official launch, almost every basic specification and other aspect of the phone was revealed.
As announced, the Motorola Edge S is the world’s first Snapdragon 870-powered phone. The chipset brings a 12% better performance than the Snapdragon 865 chipset. The chipset scored 680K points on AnTuTu Benchmark, which is far better than the Snapdragon 865+.
The Motorola Edge S has a 21:9 ultra-wide screen. It supports a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10, DCI-P3 color gamut, and 408 nits brightness. The display also has a dual punch hole with Full-HD+ resolution. The company didn’t mention whether the display is AMOLED or LCD.
The phone has a quad-camera module on the back. The quad camera module includes a 64MP primary wide lens, a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a ToF sensor.
The camera also has some highlights, such as dual-view video, video spot color, beautifying portrait video, and audio zoom. On the front, there is a dual (16MP+8MP) camera module.
The phone has a 5000mAh battery and supports 20W fast charging. It also features a smart antenna, MAAT technology, and Moto AI night camera algorithm, supports Ready for multi-screen collaboration, runs MYUI, and supports one-touch and one-finger split-screen capabilities.
The officials also claimed that the Motorola Edge S uses Turbo LPDDR5 memory and Turbo UFS 3.1 storage, which increases speed by 72% and 25%, respectively.
The Motorola Edge S is available in three storage variants: 6+128GB at CNY 1999 ($310), 8+128GB at CNY 2399 ($371), and 8+256GB at CNY 2799 ($433). It would be available in two colors: Emerald Glaze and Snow Group.
The phone is now available for pre-orders, which started at 8 PM.
