Motorola officially showed long-distance wireless charging technology

Today, Motorola officially showed its long-distance charging technology. The general manager of Lenovo’s mobile phone business department in China, Jinge, said that the charging distance could be far greater than the current contact charging based on Qi technology. It supports simultaneous charging of multiple mobile phones, has a higher degree of freedom, and also has safety performance, which is true wireless charging.

He also asked everyone about their needs. This technology is expected to be added to the future Motorola Edge series.

The video shows that when two Motorola Edge mobile phones are placed at a distance of 1 meter and 80 cm, both phones can be charged. When the charging transmitter is blocked by the hand, both mobile phones stop charging. After removing the hand, the phone starts to charge again.

It is understood that as early as 2017, the technology company uBeam showed its own wireless charging technology for the first time, claiming to have developed a technology that can convert ultrasound into electrical energy.

According to reports, the power generation principle is that the uBeam device emits ultrasonic waves, which drive a piezoelectric crystal in a piezoelectric transducer to vibrate to generate current. Within 15 feet (about 4.5 meters), it can charge for mobile phones and other devices.
