This morning, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo updated his report on the new MacBook.
In the report, Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that MacBook shipments are expected to increase to 16-17 million units in 2020 and rise to 18-20 million units in 2021.
Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the upcoming new MacBooks will include: a 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon (planned to start mass production in Q4 2020), a MacBook Air with Apple Silicon (expected to start mass production in Q4 2020 or Q1 2021), and new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon (expected to start mass production in late Q1 2021 or Q3 2021).
In an optimistic situation, if Apple reduces the price of the MacBook Air with Apple silicon, it indicates that manufacturing costs have been reduced. If the demand for the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models exceeds that of the older MacBook Pro models, MacBook shipments in 2021 are expected to grow significantly, reaching 18-20 million units.
