This morning, NIO officially announced that the NIO EC6 will be launched on September 15. This EV would be a smart electric coupe SUV.
The NIO EC6 was also listed on the MIIT certification, revealing the car’s dimensions and tire sizes. The dimensions of the EC6 are 4849 x 1995 x 1697 mm, the wheelbase is 2915 mm, and it is available in two tire size options: 265/45R21 and 255/50R20. According to officials, the top speed of this EV is 200km/h.
The NIO EC6 has the motor models YS150S001 and TZ210S001, which boast power ratings of 150kW and 210kW, respectively.
Several automotive bloggers have already unveiled spy photos showcasing the appearance of the NIO EC6. The new vehicle retains the sleek fastback coupe SUV stance seen in the EC5, with a body contour that is even more similar to its ET5 sedan.
Compared to the NIO EC7, the EC6 appears shorter and more compact, featuring a lower overall body stance. However, it retains the key elements of NIO’s signature design, including the iconic long strip of daytime running lights, through-type taillights at the rear, and the distinctive trio of roof LiDAR and cameras, leaving none of these signature features behind.
The interior of the NIO EC6 has not been officially disclosed; it is expected that there won’t be significant differences from other models built on the NT2.0 platform. The general cockpit layout is expected to remain consistent with the new NIO ES6.
