The OnePlus 9 series launch event will be held at 2:00 PM on March 24 at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. This morning, OnePlus officially announced the screen specifications for the OnePlus 9 series.
At 10 a.m. today, OnePlus announced that its OnePlus 9 screen has received DisplayMate A+ certification, setting 13 display records with a 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The screen uses a true 10-bit panel, supporting billion-level colors, 8192-level brightness adjustment, automatic color temperature sensing, and other technologies.
More importantly, the OnePlus 9 series will also be the world’s first smartphone to feature an LTPO flexible display, a technology that dynamically adjusts the refresh rate to reduce power consumption.
Data shows that LTPO is a different OLED manufacturing technology. Compared to LTPS technology, LTPO offers higher charge mobility and faster pixel response, improving screen response time and reducing power consumption.
Another major advantage of the LTPO screen is its support for a wide range of refresh rate adjustments, enabling adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz. This allows the screen to switch modes based on usage scenarios, balancing the demands of high refresh rates with low power consumption.
There are rumors that Apple will also equip the iPhone 13 Pro series with LTPO screens to achieve a high refresh rate.
