Oppo A53 5G with Dimensity 720 will launch on December 1

A few months ago, OPPO launched a mid-range smartphone called the OPPO A53. The phone achieved strong sales, bringing great success to OPPO. It was also the first device to feature the Snapdragon 460 chipset. Now, OPPO seems to be planning to release a new version of the Oppo A53 with 5G support.

Today, the OPPO A53 5G appeared on the China Telecom website. The model number is PECM30, and it will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 720 (MT6853V) chipset. The back of the phone looks different from the 4G version.

If we compare the two devices, this phone has better specifications. It also appeared on the TENAA website, which has also revealed all of its specifications:

  • 6.5-inch single punch-hole screen
  • 16M TFT display with Full HD+ (2400 x 1080) resolution
  • Dimensions: 162.2 x 75.0 x 7.9 mm, weight: 175g
  • 3945mAh battery
  • Mediatek Dimensity 720 chipset (7nm)
  • Triple camera (16MP, 2MP,2MP) in a square module
  • 8MP front camera in a single punch-hole
  • Side fingerprint scanner
  • Colors: Black, White, Purple, Silver, Red

The camera module now has a square design, while the 4G version uses a rectangular camera module. The fingerprint scanner has also been moved to the lock screen button.

The phone is available in two storage options, which are the following:

  • 4+128GB for CNY 1599 ($245)
  • 6+128GB for CNY 1799 ($275)

This phone may be limited to the Chinese market, as many 5G devices are only available in China or a few regions.
