Redmi Note 12R Pro with Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 will launch on April 29

A month ago, Redmi officially announced its Redmi Note 12 Turbo, the first phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset. However, the company seems to still want to extend its Note 12 series. Today, the company has released another device in the Redmi Note 12 series.

This morning, Redmi officially unveiled the Redmi Note 12R Pro. The device will go on sale on April 29. The company also revealed the specs and design of the device in the official announcement.

As mentioned, the Redmi Note 12R Pro will feature an OLED straight display manufactured by Samsung. The display will support a 120Hz higher refresh rate for a smoother experience. It is also SGS low blue light certified for eye protection in long-term usage. It is quite interesting that Redmi provides an OLED display in an entry-level device.

The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, which belongs to the entry-level segment and is based on a 4nm manufacturing process. It features the following cores: 2x Cortex-A78 performance cores at 2.0GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 energy-efficient cores at 1.8GHz. The device will also support dual-SIM dual 5G connectivity.

The officials also mentioned that the top storage variant would have 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The launch poster shows that the Note 12R Pro features a dual-camera setup on the back in a rectangle-shaped module. The primary lens is a 48MP sensor.

As for the full specs, we’ll have to wait until the Redmi Note 12R Pro’s first sales day, which is April 29.
