A few days ago, ASUS officially confirmed that a new smartphone is coming, but they didn’t reveal any more details. It seems like the company is planning to launch a new generation of its gaming smartphone.
Today, Chinese Digital Blogger WHYLAB revealed a live image of the new ROG gaming smartphone. The live image shows that the device has a similar appearance to the ROG phone 3.
The live image shows that the number 5 is also mentioned, which points out that ASUS will skip the ROG Gaming Phone 4 and launch the ROG Phone 5 as some smartphone manufacturers have done in the past.
The ROG Branding logo has been moved to the lower left of the back. The phone has a triple camera module, like the ROG Phone 3, which has a primary 64MP camera. A red button in the lower right corner of the fuselage is also there (maybe used for entering gaming mode with a one-click button).
Some leaks also confirmed that the device would support a 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging. Moreover, an ROG phone with model number I005DA was also spotted on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. The phone seems to be the upcoming ROG Phone 5.
At the moment, the exact release date of this phone has not been officially revealed.
