Today, a new report on Qualcomm‘s upcoming flagship chipset has been revealed. The chipset is expected to be named Snapdragon 875G. The report suggests that Samsung has started mass production of the chipset. A previous report from an investment bank also suggests that Samsung will manufacture the Snapdragon 875G.
Industry insiders also revealed that Samsung won this contract from Qualcomm. This means that Samsung will manufacture the Snapdragon 875G chipset. According to reports, this contract is worth 1 Trillion Korean Won.
It is reported that Samsung has begun mass-producing the Snapdragon 875 on its production line in South Korea using EUV equipment. This is the first time that Samsung has produced Qualcomm’s flagship chipset.
Some sources have reported that the upcoming 5G chipset will feature the Snapdragon X60 modem with an RF-integrated system. It will also use Quick Charge 5.0 technology (supports fast charging up to 100W+).
The chipset will likely use the Cortex-X1 core as the main core and the Cortex-A78 core for the other three performance cores. The rest other four energy-efficient cores are still unconfirmed.
Previously, we reported that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875G is expected to launch in December 2020. The chipset will power the 1H2020 devices from famous smartphone manufacturers (like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Oppo).
