Today, Sony has officially confirmed that it will launch the FX6 video camera on November 17 at 23:00.
Sony previously revealed the appearance of FX6, which seems to be a shortened version of FX9. It uses the ND control panel, which is almost the same as FX9 but more streamlined. FX6 is wholly developed and based on the professional camera platform.
Its shape, layout, and grip feel are more in line with film and television photographers’ operating habits.
The company didn’t reveal any specifications regarding the new FX6 camera. Some rumors claimed that the FX6 might feature a 5.7K Super35 sensor, a bit lower than the FX9, which is equipped with a 6K sensor.
On 2 September 2020, Sony announced its new Cinema Line movie camera system, a product series for content creators. It brings Sony’s technical advantages together in the field of digital film shooting and gives full play to its expertise in image quality, details, and technology.
Both VENICE and FX9 cameras are included in this series. After FX6 is listed, Cinema Line’s troika will be built, and FX6 would be the lightest one to support this.
