The upcoming Vivo S17 series has been leaked and rumored for a long time. Even the expected models in this lineup were listed on different certification sites, revealing their basic specifications. However, the company has finally ended the leaks by officially announcing the Vivo S17 series.
This morning, Vivo officially announced that the Vivo S17 series will be launched on May 31 in a launch event. The company hasn’t revealed anything more in the official announcement except the launch date.
However, thanks to the blogger Digital Chat Station. The blogger has revealed the renders of both phones and their specifications. Before going into details, it is worth mentioning that this series will consist of three models: S17e, S17, and S17 Pro. The renders and specifications of Vivo S17e have already been discussed in one of our previous articles.
The S17 and S17 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch single punch-hole curved display that supports 1.5K resolution and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The S17 series will feature a plastic frame with a thickness of 7.46 mm and a weight of approximately 188g.
The S17 Pro would be powered by Dimensity 8200, a sub-flagship category chipset from MediaTek. The S17 is rumored to feature a Snapdragon 7 series chipset (most probably Snapdragon 778G or 782G).
The Vivo S17 Pro features a triple camera setup, including a 50MP Sony IMX766V lens, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP Sony IMX663 telephoto lens with 2x zoom support. The S17 will feature a dual camera setup and lacks the telephoto lens.
The S17 series will support 80W fast charging. However, it is only known that the S17 Pro comes with a 4500mAh battery. Moreover, optical in-display fingerprint recognition is also a major highlight of the vivo S17 series.
