A few days ago, we reported that Vivo was working on a new mid-range smartphone, the Vivo Y32, but the company isn’t just limited to that. Instead, we’re seeing continued development from the company. This morning, a new device from the same Vivo Y series surfaced on the Chinese certification site.
The device is named Vivo Y55s 5G and was listed on China Telecom along with the basic specifications and renders.
The Vivo Y55s features a 6.58-inch U-shaped notch display that supports Full-HD+ resolution (2408x1080p). The body measures 163.87×75.33×9.17 mm and weighs about 199.8 grams. It seems that the device is a bit heavy.
The vivo Y55s is powered by the Dimensity 700 chipset, which is the most affordable CPU in MediaTek’s Dimensity 5G series. The chipset is based on a 7nm manufacturing process and has a maximum clock of 2.2GHz (Cortex-A76 core). It also integrates the Mali-G72 CPU.
The camera specifications of the device are also a bit lower. The phone features a dual camera setup (50MP+2MP) in a rectangle-shaped module with a vertical arrangement. On the front side, there is an 8MP lens in the display notch.
The phone also has a large 6000mAh Li-ion battery inside and supports 18W charging. The company has also integrated a side fingerprint sensor in the lock screen button. It also features a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The phone would be available in only one storage variant: 8+128GB, priced at 1899 yuan ($299), while the color options are Ceramic Black, Mirror Lake Blue, and Cherry Pink Meteor. The vivo Y55s will be released on December 4.
