ZTE Blade A3 with facial recognition support launched for approximately $121

This afternoon, ZTE officially launched its new smartphone – the ZTE Blade A3, in Beijing. The phone’s biggest highlight is the selfie function.


ZTE Blade A3 adopts plastic material and adds the antenna to the top of the phone’s back, and it measures 152.4×75.8×8.2mm and weighs 164g. The smartphone provides obsidian black, ice blue and blue three color options. Besides, it also supports facial recognition. ZTE’s official party has announced that it supports unlocking the phone within 1 second with facial recognition.

The Blade A3 features a 5.5-inch TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 1,280 pixels by 720 pixels. It is powered by the quad-core 1.4GHz MediaTek MT3737T processor. The phone features a 5MP + 2MP dual camera setup, which supports the portrait bokeh function on the front and the 13P rear camera. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM and sports a 4,00mAh large battery.

The phone is priced at CNY 799 (approximately $121), and the pre-orders have started today. It will be officially on sale on November 6.
